The Curriculum
The “Love the Water” curriculum aims to cultivate a love of water for all ages and an understanding of this life giving substance from the perspectives of Indigenous Wisdom, Goethean Science (a qualitative phenomenological approach), Water Science and a Utilitarian approach (farming, water rights, etc.).
Water scarcity, water pollution and climate change are rising crises in global consciousness today. This is acutely true in Colorado where tensions frequently rise in decisions of how to allocate water between agriculture, industry and development. Colorado’s water supply is an essential source to seven western states (Colorado, New Mexico, Utah, Wyoming, Arizona, California and Nevada). Experiencing water rights tensions first-hand, the Cresset Center was inspired to create the “Love the Water” curriculum to offer students of all ages an experiential and real life opportunity to learn about water in a holistic way.

The Love the Water Curriculum is shared through field trip opportunities for schools and community groups; practical water workshops; as well as an annual Water Research and Wisdom Confluence.

LOVE THE WATER EDUCATIONAL FIELD TRIPS
We host water education field trips for school classes (up to 25 students) and community groups as a 1/2 day experience or a series of 3 sessions over the year. We integrate farm-based education into our “Love the Water” curriculum for students to learn about the farm on their visit. The curriculum is adapted to best meet each age group.
Please inquire at info@cressetcenter.org for more information on content and pricing and/or to schedule your field-trip.
