Farm News Update from Bryn!
The farm is getting cold! Today’s weather (February 19) has a bite to it, and the strong wind on the hill certainly doesn’t make it any more comfortable. The animals are feeling it too— momma sheep are huddled up with their babies and the cats are sneaking into the greenhouse for some warmth. While all the plants are dormant, there is still new life on the farm— baby lambs (a LOT of them)! It is so nice to see new life on the farm, especially in the winter where everything is stagnant and nothing is growing. They are getting bigger and stronger every day.
While the snow and ice seem like they’ll be here forever, there is a bright side— spring is coming, and with that comes planting season! We are planning out a medicinal herb, vegetable, and flower garden! Soon, the farm will be filled with life and growth again, with over 25 different types of plants inhabiting what is now covered by a thick blanket of snow.
